BMW

We are all familiar with BMW or more famously known as Bayerische Motoren Werke or Bavarian Motor Works in English. However, I'm not talking about that BMW. I'm talking about the infamous Bus Mini Wilayah (BMW).

Ya, that BMW.

The one that was a terror on 4 wheels. Despite its size, it zig zagged through traffic like a speeding bullet. Even the smallest gap in traffic, it squeezed through. Beating red lights was second nature.

Overflowing with passengers, passengers hanging out from the bus door and passengers screaming at the driver was a common sight.

The list of complaints goes on and on.

Despite the recklessness, express buss caused more accidents and killed more passengers.

Life threatening to say the least, yet, it was also efficient. It got to your destination in one piece and on time.

Although, it was more like a terror ride but with youth on your side, your lived life in the fast lane. You could never have enough of the mini bus. Your life literally hanging by a thread. Your life was in the hands of the mini bus driver.

Every time, I got down from one, I was thanking god to be alive.

Hence, it came as no surprise when the government outlawed the mini bus on the road. Ending their reign of terror. When that happened, the roads became safe for all road users and pedestrians, alike.

When their services was terminated, they quickly became confined to the pages of history.

There is currently, one in Muzeum Negara. It was nostalgic, seeing one again.

Pictures taken on 6 August 2017

One of the company entrusted to run the mini bus

Number 55 provided service to passengers in Chow Kit, Kota Raya and surrounding area

Where the "nutty professor" sat. Driver from hell

The driver would either steer you to your intended destination, steer your through pure terror, drive you to the highway of hell or become a hellraiser. Or all of the above

During its hey, there was barely an empty spot. Passengers were packed in like canned sardines. Usually overflowing till the entrance, therefore, the doors were always open to accommodate passengers standing on the entrance stairs

I wanted to share this picture. The security guard informed that the huge tree behind the wooden house, houses a spirit. It haunts the place at night.

I asked him how does it know its a spirit? He informed that when guards are on leave, i.e., not their working day, the spirit would take their physical apprentice and roam the area. It would never talk though, when spoken to.

The guard did commented that it never disturbed people
