Rathaa Curry House, Bandar Puteri Puchong

Our family outing on 27 September 2014. 22 Jalan Puteri 1/5, Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Tel : 03 8051 1343. We have not had banana leaf rice for quite some time so a quick search on the internet led us to this joint

The Deep Fried area. Just choose your menu and inform the cook. As simple as that

Don't be fooled by the lack of crowd. People walk in and out of the place like it is a shopping mall and at times getting a seat may be a problem

Fried squid. Nice but I think Raju in Jalan Gasing is better

Fried Burung Puyuh. Very soft and tender. Spiced just right too

Tofu

Egg Curry. Curry tasted great

Fried cauliflower

Fish Eggs and Ikan Kembong

Fried Crab

This is what my "plate" looked like. All food tasted exceptionally good

Coconut Water

Masala Tea. This is the bomb

Yogurt

A really great tasting rasam

The total damage for 4 adults and 2 kids came to RM131.20. A little on the pricey side but for great food, no complaints

Royal Selangor Pewter, Pitis and Cafe

More on Selangor Pewter from my previous blog entry. Tel : 03 4145 6000. On this outing we went specifically to purchase Pewter Pendant Pitis and laze in their cafe

Description of the Pitis

There's a nice koi pond at the cafe to relax

Very comfy leather chairs

Ambiance is elegant

Scones. I inquired from their staff as to the quality and was assured that it is soft and best! I had tried many types of scones, some are rock hard and could kill a bird. Rest assured the scones here are gorgeous. It tasted heavenly and its indeed one of the best scones that I had the pleasure of trying

Chocolate Milk. Excellent and very chocolaty. No cheap powder is used. Total for this quick snack is about RM14.00

Military Ammunition Box

Forget the standard tool box. If you have a man cave, what you need is a Military Ammunition Box to store your tools. A genuine military ammunition box will be watertight, i.e 100% waterproof.

I have been looking for this item for quite some time now. I have came across many China made ones but rarely, genuine Malaysian Military army. Hence, when such unit surfaced I jumped at the opportunity.

They are perfect for portable storage and each is gasketed to seal out the elements and built to take punishment.

They are constructed of heavy gauge steel for bombproof protection.

Uncle Chili Restaurant, Amcorp Mall

Outing on 14 September 2014. A great place to go to if you're into flee markets. After scrutinizing the flee markets, we had a scrumptious lunch.

Decor is minimalist at best

The only entertainment we had at Uncle Chili

My son enjoying his beverage. RM6.00 Honey Lime. A very refreshing drink

Now it's mu wife's turn and daughter

What an adorable girl

Fried Rice RM9.50. A tad on the spicy side so kids beware

Curry Noodle RM6.50. Simply irresistible

Sweet Sour Bun RM6.00. Contains bite size pieces of chicken. Really brilliant dish and the buns are really crispy

Singapore Fried Mee Hoon RM6.20. In just one word, great

The Bill

After the wonderful meal, guess whom did I bump into? Senior Numismatics, Master Wong, Master Saran Singh and Master Dickson. What a great way to end the day

Swensens, Ice Cream, Subang Parade

Back in the day, when I was still a kid, my dad used to take us to an ice cream parlor called Swensens. I can't remember much about it's location. It may have been in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru or even Singapore. I can't really recall. But what I can recall are the fond memories I had of eating ice cream at Swensens. Back then, before there was Hargan Das or Baskin Robbins, there was Swensens.

They had opened an outlet at 5 Jalan SS16/1, Subang Jaya, G30 inside Subang Parade. I brought my family as I wanted them to know how it was for me, those days.

Ambiance is inviting but a bit dated. I feel however, the rustic lights bring a sense of nostalgia

Volcano RM12.90. Has dried ice in the middle to produce a smoking effect.

Strawberry Ice cream RM8.90 with Strawberry Topping RM1.50

Close up

Coit TowerRM22.00. This is one of their classic dish

Water no charge

Pizza San Francisco, Kota Kemuning

Lets begin by how delicious the food here is. My son enjoying his Lamb Chop

Lamb Chop RM20.90

San Francisco Special RM31.90. Although this is their specialty but it may not be to everyone's liking. We found it too much dough

and not enough filling and sauces

Linguine Salmon RM18.00. Not bad but not great as well

Brownie RM7.90. This is a must have. Very soft moist brownie

Creme Brulee RM4.90. Also another must have. Soft and freshly made
