Malaysian 1971 10 cents Variety 3

I have already provided a decent explanation on the 3 different varieties of the Malaysian 1971 10 cents coin in my blog dated 18 June 2014. Anyhow, I am indeed very lucky to have Sifu Sia Hooi Chuan who aided me greatly in obtaining this piece for my collection. Purchased on 26 June 2014. Initially we were under the impression that I was purchasing a Variety 1 but upon closer inspection, Sifu informed me that its actually a Variety 3 which is even more rarer.

For that I thank you Sifu for your kindness, help and guidance that you have given me.

Graded and cased by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation) USA

Close up of the coin, sorry picture quality is not good

Reverse of the coin. NGC rates it as AU (Almost UNC). This is rare enough with UNC being almost impossible to obtain. Surface Hairline.

Close-up reverse. As you can see it is not shiny due to it being a die variety

The beveled edge is not visible with the naked eye. You will need a magnifying glass for that

The Local, Jaya One

On 28 June 2014, my kids had their cupcake icing session at Fuwa Fuwa, The School. Located at Jaya One. Thereafter we scouted the area looking for any local delights and we found one. Appropriately called The Local by TGP (The Gastro Project). 53-G, Block D, the Suites, Jaya One, No 72A, Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya.

The decor is nothing to shout about, simplistic at its best but the food is really to be raved

Nasi Kerabu RM 12.50. This is really authentic. The dark blue rice may look like food dye but its actually from bunga telang. The reason why its so blue is due to the fact that the owner informed me that they use more than the required amount to get the dark blue color. The dish comes with rendang ayam, fish crackers and some salad and salted egg. Taste awesome. A must try. The rice is good enough to eat on its own and the chicken although comes with gravy is not spicy and very soft

Chicken Rice with Roaster Chicken RM11.50. The chicken is soft and full of flavor. The rice is soft and has the chicken rice taste just like the old days. Another must have

Chicken Wanton Soup RM10.50. Hand down this is the best wanton mee that I had tasted so far. I asked the owner is the mee home made, it claims that it is bought but all I can say it is darn tasty. Only thing I can say that the portion is too small for me

ABC RM6.00. Very creamy and tasty. A must try also. Ingredients are also plents

Apple Assam Boi RM7.00. So good and refreshing we ordered two. A bit sweet though and the second glass we requested for sugar to be reduced

The total bill. 6% Government Tax and 10% Service Charge. Fast service with a smile. What else can I say? Enjoy the food

Porsche 356C

29 June 2014, I send my car for service as I needed to replace the air-cond blower. While the blower was being replaced, (it took a good three hours) I managed to survey some shops in the same vicinity.

I stumbled this car interior re-upholstery shop. I needed a replacement hand brake leather boot shift as the original one was worn out. The shop uses original Italian leather and I was quoted RM80.

As I was surveying their workmanship or more like craftsmanship I noticed that there was a Original Porsche 356C or also known as Bathtub Porsche.

Porsche 356 was produced from 1948 to 1965. It was the company's first production automobile. It was lightweight and nimble handling. Rear engine, rear wheel drive and a 2 door sports car.

The 356's cabriolets (soft-top) are identifiable by their split (1948 to 1952) or bent (center creased, 1953 to 1955) windscreens.

Saw this car at TH Kusyen Enterprise, 11 Jalan Penggawa U1/74, Taman Perindustrian Batu Tiga, Shah Alam.

This is a pre-1952 model in silver.

Rear view. Gorgeous

Interior, Red, White and Silver, All metal and all mechanical, no electronics whatsoever, just pure passion

Engine Flat 4, Displacement 1582 cc (1.6cc), 88 bhp @ 5200 rpm and 122 newton meters of torque@ 3600 rpm. Gearbox is 4 Speed Manual. Performance is claimed at 0-100 kph: 13.5 secs, with a top speed of 160 kph

Takara Tomy Auto Parking Garage

Dear reader, as per my previous blog dated 22 June 2014, I have added more pictures on incorporating my kids toys into our living environment. This post is intended for sharing to give readers some ideas on what you could do to place your kids toys at strategic points without disrupting the homes interior design, livability, walk ability and etc.

This picture had been included in my previous post. As you can see it is facing the main entrance of the house and they can have direct access to the small yard anytime

Hot Wheels Turbine Twister

The Takara Tomy Auto Parking Garage placed besides the Hot Wheels Set. Currently I am still using the Hot Wheels cars. Each car cost me about RM6.90 purchsed from Toys R US. At the moment the Hot Wheels cars are not suitable, they tend to get stuck in the spiral stairs in the garage. In the picture below, it is the cylinder shaped object where the helipad is located

Mega Bloks Tiny n Tuff Buildable Car, placed on our coffee table or what used to be our coffee table

Star Wars miniature figurines, Master Replica FX Luke Skywalker Lightsaber and off course, Darth Vader. Placed in our living room around our home theater and LCD TV

31" inches Darth Vader standing guard to our antique display

Hot Toys Iron Man Avengers Mark VII and War Machine. Placed in Legend Studio display case on top of our sub woofer

Ana Ikan Bakar Petai

This post is long overdue. I came across this pictures still stored in my mobile. It is from 28 January 2014 during my visit to Kuantan.

I was recommended this place by my friend. Ana Ikan Bakar Petai. Located at Pantai Selera,Tanjung Lumpur, Kuantan. Tel: 019-987 8155 (Haji Baharin) or 013-9989175 (En. Fairuz).

My advise is arrive there by 7pm if you want to seat and eat comfortably. Be warned that the place is always packed.

Sata. This is officially one of the best that I had tasted

Inside the wrapper

Kailan Ikan Masin

Kepah Buluh. Really good as well

Sotong Goreng Tepung. This was crispy and nice but ended up burning my mouth a bit due to the heat

Butter Prawns. I would advise to give this a skip as from the picture, it is just not quite there and when eaten, you can taste the egg lumps

Ikan Pari Bakar. Tasty but a bit dry I found it

Keropok Lekor. Freshly cooked in front of you

Sea coconut drink. This is very refreshing

Total bill came to about RM120.00. Not bad for 3 people to eat

Hot Wheels and Thomas Train Set

A happy kid is a well nurtured kid. How do you nurture a kid to become well behaved? Well for starters, toys and lots of toys. When it was just me and my wife, our house decor was matured, sophisticated and tasteful. Equally balanced with modern and wood furnishing.

With the addition of our kids, we had to incorporate their toys to blend into our surroundings as not to cause disharmony of the living environment and also to keep our sanity. I have placed some pictures below to share some of their toys that has been blended into our interior design
Hot Wheels. You can only race one car at a time as the cars would be prone to crashing into one another and also spinning out of the track. This set is strategically placed in front of our sliding door with a direct access to the garden. Hence, they can run in and out of the house unobstructed and also have their car racing game nearby

Due to the speed that the car zooms, you will need to provide additional support for the pillars

The original car (Orange) that came with the set and the additional one (Green) that I purchased. The original one and the many others that I purchased turned out not suitable to be used for this type of track. The said green one provided the most suitable and rarely ran off its course

Thomas Train Set. This used to be our Japanese style dining area on the 1st floor, now turned to play table. We  still have meals around the table (sitting crossed legged on a puffy pillow on the floor) but minus putting food on the table. Now they can play and eat at the same time

Baskin Robbins Kota Kemuning

Located at 2-35-1(Ground), No. 14, Persiaran Anggerik Vanilla, Sinaran Satu, Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam. A shop lot on its own with ample sitting space. Tried their cake. Its indeed very pricey and not to mention small. And unlike other ice cream cakes it tends to melt rather quickly. I only left mine out not more than 5 minutes and the top was already runny.

Now the million dollar question. Is it worth it? I still have not made up my mind as I took the chocolate chip ice cream. I had to buy what was available. My advise is only buy what flavor you like that is available, if not get some other cake to enjoy

How it looks on the inside. Big chunks of Oreo

Baked Potato Pie and Vanilla Milk Shake

Hi. Although Father's Day had ended a week ago but I decided yesterday, 22 June 2014 to do something for the kids and wife as my way of saying thanks to them. I did this for breakfast. Wash, peel and dice into cubes Russet potatoes. Put them into a boiling pot and boil until the potatoes are soft

Drain them

Mix in the sea salt, black pepper and italian mixed spices

Mash

Boil eggs. I use Ayam Kampung Eggs. I notice that these eggs are tastier, softer, fluffier and the yoke is also yellower than the processed eggs. Once boiled, peel and shred the eggs

Dice garlic, onion and chili

Place a layer of mashed potatoes on the bottom on the pan. Don't forget to grease the pan with olive oil first

Fry your chicken / beef pieces together with your diced garlic, onion and chili. Once done mix in the shredded boiled eggs

Place the ingredients on top of the layer of mash potatoes

Cover the ingredients with another layer of mash potatoes

Oil or butter the top of the mesh potatoes and use a fork to make waves or layers as a finishing touch

Place in a oven and bake for 15 minutes at 250 degrees Celsius or until the top is golden brown. You are now ready to serve

Vanilla Milk Shake My Style. I use nestle vanilla ice cream. Placed in a bowl and pour in fresh milk. Quantity is hard to say, mix and taste to your liking. Blend thereafter

Drop in freshly cut cubes of strawberry and yellow kiwi into the blended milk shake

For the topping, use whipped cream

Done
