Infinity Wars

At the time if this posting most of you would have seen Avengers infinity wars. Yesterday, 10 May was our 3 outing for Infinity Wars.

I must say Thanos was not as despicable as he was made out to be. In his sick twisted mind, there was a insane wisdom towards his actions.

With the ever increasing population, what do we do before we deplete our resources.

The following was obtained from Unicef website -

Be Fruitful and Multiply!

That is exactly what we’ve been doing for the past century.

It is difficult to come to the exact number of births every day since not all births are registered or recorded.

There is an estimated average of 353,000 babies are born each day around the world or 4.3 births every second (as of Dec. 2013 estimate).

Our current world population is approximately 7.2 billion and growing. It passed the 7 billion mark in 2011. It is expected to reach between 8 to 10 billion by 2050.

So many people so little space and resources. Pollution is ever increasing.

Thanos knew this.

Here are some excerpt from the movie -

"Conversation between Dr. Strange and Thanos in Titan"

Thanos:                       "When we faced extinction I offered a solution"

Dr. Stephen Strange:  "Genocide?"

Thanos:                       "But random, dispassion is fair for rich and poor a like. They called
me a mad man. What I predict came unannounced."

Dr. Stephen Strange:  "Congratulations, you're a prophet"

Thanos:                       "I'm a survivor"

Dr. Stephen Strange:  "Who wants to murder trillions"

Thanos:                      "With all the six stones I can simply snap my fingers, they will all
cease to exist. I call that... mercy."

Dr. Stephen Strange:  "Then what?"

Thanos:                       "Finally rest, watch the sunrise on an ungrateful universe. The
hardest choices require the strongest will."

Thanos had conviction in what he believed

"Conversation between Gamora and Thanos in Sanctuary 2 after she was taken from Knowhere"

Gamora:     "I hate that chair."

Thanos:      "So I’ve been told. Even so, I’d hope you would sit in it one day."

Gamora:     "I hated this room. This ship. I hated my life."

Thanos:      "You told me that too. Every day. For almost 20 years."

Gamora:     "I was a child when you took me."

Thanos:      "I saved you."

Gamora:     "No, no, we were happy on my home planet."

Thanos:      "Going to bed hungry. Scrounging for scraps. Your planet was on the brink of
collapse. I was the one who stopped that. You know what’s happened since
then? The children born have known nothing but full bellies and clear skies.
                    It’s a paradise."

Gamora:     "Because you murdered half the planet!"

Thanos:      "A small price to pay for salvation."

Gamora:     "You’re insane."

Thanos:     "Little one, it’s a simple calculus. This universe is finite, its resources, finite…
if life is left unchecked, life will cease to exist. It needs correcting."

Gamora:     "YOU DON’T KNOW THAT!"

Thanos:      "I’m the only one who knows that. At least I’m the only who has the will to act
on it. For a time, you had that same will. As you fought by my side, daughter."

Gamora:     "I’m not your daughter. Everything I hate about myself, you taught me."

Thanos:       "And in doing so, made you the fiercest woman in the Galaxy."

Newton's third law is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The culling of mankind is inevitable.

There must be balance in the Universe. Too much pull towards one side, the Universe plunders into chaos

Thanos:       "Fun isn't something one considers when balancing the universe.
But this... does put a smile on my face."

Thanos:       "When I'm done, half of humanity will still exist. Perfectly balanced, as all things
                     should be."

Although Mantis said it most correctly, "Death follows him like a shadow." but he is a loving father. In a twisted way.

"Conversation between Gamora "spirit" and Thanos.

Thanos:            "Daughter".

Child Gamora:  "Did you do it?".

Thanos:            "Yes".

Child Gamora:   "What did it cost?".

Thanos:              "Everything".

In summary, my verdict of the movie? The below poster will be my next acquisition to hang on the wall

Spoiler alert, my below chart shows who actively participated in saving the Universe and who was a waste of oxygen
