Many of you would remember this game. You would have played them at one time in your life during your childhood. Unlike kids today, with their PSP's.
We had many board games that kept us entertained for hours.
The origin of this game is uncertain but I feel that it may have been around before 1805. The reason being is that it is mentioned in the Nursery Rhyme, Five, Six, Pick up sticks.
The full modern lyrics are as follows:
One, two,
Buckle my shoe;
Three, four,
Open the door;
Five, six,
Pick up sticks;
Seven, eight,
Lay them straight:
Nine, ten,
A big, fat hen;
Eleven, twelve,
Dig and delve;
Thirteen, fourteen,
Maids a-courting;
Fifteen, sixteen,
Maids in the kitchen;
Seventeen, eighteen,
Maids a-waiting
Nineteen, twenty,
My plate's empty.
I purchased this at one of the stalls in Kinrara Rest Area on 17 August 2014 for RM1.80. HAd a good play with my kids and they thoroughly enjoyed the game. Oldies are Goldies
The reverse
Ahhhh. Sure brings back memories playing this with my classmates after school
