This is the second time I had to adjust the time after not using it. It clearly states automatic on the watch. But little did I know I was totally wrong. It should have been a dead giveaway when the battery was no where to be seen nor visible in the case back. This is one instance where I totally ignored that fact. Ignorance is bliss indeed.
The watch does not come with manual winding feature. Hence, to keep it “Alive” you will need to use it daily to keep it ticking. If it goes into storage, before taking the watch off, shaking the wrist for 30 seconds should adequately wind it up. It has a 40 hour power reserve.

I got a shock when there was such a discrepancy in time. My son’s iPad states 30 June 2020 8.30am but my Seiko SNK805K2 states 28 March, 6.40.
For novices like me, don’t be deceived by the automatic written on the watch
Upon closer inspection a serial number is also engraved on the metal surface beside the crown
From the following pictures you can see the word Seiko printed is all over the place. A nice feature indeed
If you shake the watch hard and put it up to your ears. You can hear the mechanism moving, powering it up.
