Little Jakarta Waroeng

Little Jakarta Waroeng. This is indeed truly a hidden gem. For two reasons. One it's really hidden inside Pearl Point Shopping Mall, hence only regular patrons know about this place and two, because the food here not not only affordable but really good. Located in the said shopping center at lot 1.0,23, Jalan Klang Lama, Taman United. Tel : 03 7082 6060. They serve authentic Indonesian food. The outlet is rather shall and is located opposite Watsons. They have limited tables and chairs at most seating 20 pax. But don't let that put you off. It is a worth try and definitely memorable food. Lets not waste time shall we and get down to the food we tried on the menu.

The outlet has a traditional feel, reminisces of going back to the kampung. It very cosy. Service is fast and always with a smile. The best part is that since there is limited items on the menu the waiter will wait at your table upon serving you the menue until you had finished ordering. Hence, there is no fuss or need to chase the waiter to place your order. Furthermore, the outlet being small, the waiter can easily spot and attend to you immediately.

A very traditional feel

Ahead is the stall where drinks are made and on the left is the kitchen

As you see Watsons is on your left

Gado - Gado RM7.50, this is a small dish so it is good as a starter to your main menu. This dish is the Indonesian version of rojak. Vegetables consisting of kangkung and etc are mixed with tofu, ketupat, crackers and varnished in their traditional sauce. The sauce is really creamy with a hint of belacan. Very different from your satay sauce

Large chunks of ketupat is provided

Tahu Tempe RM6.90. This dish is served with just chili paste and meant to be eaten that way. This dish is made simply by coating the ingredients with kunyit and deep frying

Bakso RM9.90. Beef meatballs Indonesian style served with bee hoon. Nice but too much floating cabbages for me

Nasi Rawon RM13.90. A delicacy originated from Indonesia itself. Often served with rice and black beef soup containing buah keluak which is obtained from the kepayang tree. Lots of beef cubes provided and the soup which is more gravy like is simply flavorful. If you have a running nose, this would do the trick to clear it up

Rice which comes with the above dish

Cincau ljo Bandung rm7.90. Basically this is shredded ice served with large chunks of green and red cincau and mixed with rose syrup and milk. Good to the very last drop

The total bill. Service charge 10%

Subsequently being the fasting month and what not we ordered the following dishes. Sorry pricing is not provided as I did not take a copy of the receipt. So I'll just provide pictures to ogle at

Cendol. One of the better cendol that I have tried

ABC. Their ABC is really good and creamy. As a matter of fact, most of their drinks that we had tried did not disappoint. Ingredients are plenty and laici is included

Avocado milk. This is really a must try. Very creamy but smooth down the hatch. RM10.90
